Savage Persuasion

"Yellow-Striped Violins"

Yellow-Striped Violin

The heart rides the strings of the bow

against the silence

Cries escape from a pleasure never known

Now a torturous ecstasy

as passion is released

as passion escapes

in all directions of the soul

Slack-faced, mind driven asunder

in the sonance of a women freshly loved

A woman taken by the powerful

longing of a male presence

clinging to the life of the strings

Joy pulsating!

Veins open

Serenity resides along inner chambers

Nerves become pathways of grace

An awakening at a window

with linens so bright

they light the room.

Oh, such imagery in your words….again Nicole you stir up my soul’s longing. Wonderful prose and snaps.

    1. I was sitting in a Live Concert when I wrote this poem. Tonight, again I find I am provoking transcendence through the strings of the violin as I listen to Midori. Thanks for your kind remarks Henry. xo

  2. Reminds me of a beautiful vintage violin my mom has on her fireplace in Minnesota, I tried playing it as a kid, I was the worst one in the orchestra, I’m sure they were happy when I quit!! Great work always Nicole! xoxo
